Representing such a large area brings a lot of challenges. The drive from Bersham, at the northern tip of the constituency, to Llangurig at the southern edge, is a whole 60 miles. In the Cardiff East constituency, their north-south drive is some 4.5 miles.

When I was elected, I vowed to be an itinerant MP, bringing Parliament and politics closer to people, by meeting constituents in their own communities, not just holding surgeries in my offices or in the big towns.

That is why I spend as much time as possible travelling around the constituency, visiting organisations, businesses, individuals, councillors, charities, campaign groups, farms, and attending events.

With a week of recess just been, I spent the whole of it driving around Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr, speaking with constituents on the doorstep and in the streets, hearing their concerns about their local communities.
